NO fuel ... on May 15th 2007.

Don't pump fuel on may 15th.

In April, 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of
fuel prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th, 2007 all internet users are asked to not go to a gas
station and pump fuel in protest of high fuel prices. Fuel is now over
R7.00 a litre in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ people currently on the internet network, and the
average car takes about R250 to R300 to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies
pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the fuel station on May
15th and lets try to put a dent in the middle eastern oil industry for
at least one day.

If you agree (and I can't see why you wouldn't) resend this to everyone
on your contact list with it saying ''Don't pump fuel on May 15th". Mad

The argument that if no-one fills up on 15 May the petrol industry would loose billions is flawed. Firstly the argument assumes that all people fill-up whenever they stop at a gararage for petrol. The second flawed assumtpion is that all car owners on the 15 May need to buy fuel.

If one initiates a campaign, on the other hand, that encourages people not to use any form of transport that require liquid fuel on the 15th, then there would be an actual fiancial lost to those with vested interest in the fuel industry.

To start such a campaign, i submit, would be extremely dificult if not impossible if one take into account the history of the campaing to encourge peopel to cycle to work.

How about a campaign that encourges people to reduce their use of motor vehicles in a way that becomes wasfull and secondly encourging peole to share instead of using a 5 passanger car for one personly.

Talkign 'bout revolution...
